Since we have two 60lb. dogs and a small back lawn, the combination of the two results in a ruined lawn. We have huge yellow spots and patches of dead grass in our backyard that comes from the #1s that the dogs do in the yard. So we are on a mission to try and repair our lawn. it is a huge embarrassment to have people see all the dead grass. It just looks very unkempt expecially compared to our immediate neighbors to the left of us, who take very good care of their property. They also have a dog but he is a small corgi and doesn't do as much damage as Guinness and Precious do.
So for the past couple of weeks we have not had the dogs go to the bathroom in that area, which means we have to physically take them out instead of hooking them to a tied up rope and letting them go on their own. Its a bit of a pain especially when Precious has to take forever in smelling every spot before she can finally squat and do her thing. But we are doing that and bought some crystallized pellets to cover all the dead spots so hopefully our grass will grow again.
Sometimes I feel like we are the white-trash neighbors who are living in the area. Guinness can have a really loud and terrifying bark when he sees strangers, he lunges at people and acts like he will attack them. Which doesn't make sense because I don't think he would ever do something like that, he is the sweetest dog who just lives to please. But he puts on a good front which is not the best thing because he makes us look like fools since we can't control him! Compared to our neighbors who have pretty plants and landscaping and a cute little dog that doesn't make a lot of mess, we look like the wild people who let their dog ruin their grass and go crazy! So we are trying to work on improving our image. If I ever remember to, I will take some pics of our property and hopefully show the progress of it improving. Wish us luck!
