I can't believe Blake is already two weeks old now. We have been adjusting to parenthood very nicely, I think. He is such a mellow baby who sleeps and eats very well. He is easing us into this new life very gently and for that I am thankful! I am so in love with this little boy! I love staring at him as he falls asleep and seeing the facial expressions he makes. He smiles a lot when he is falling asleep and has even giggled a few times. I am going to love it when he can really recognize us and respond to us with real intention.
He is already getting bigger. He had a doctor's appointment yesterday for the two week check-up and he is now 7 1/2 lbs and 20 inches. He is growing right before my eyes! His little cheeks and tummy have started to fill out a bit. He is the most adorable baby. I heart him.
We are starting to get into a routine and he is letting me get enough rest which is key to handling all of this. Some people have asked me if I am nervous about specific things but I have had a lot of experience with infants and I think everything just comes naturally. I feel very confident and compentent in my new role as Mommy and can't imagine going to life how it used to be. It is going to be so much fun to see him change and grow and see what kind of little person he turns out to be. It is a bit daunting to think that James and I really are totally responsible for this little life now but we know that with the help of our Lord, everything will fall into place.

he really is adorable. And perfect. I am so happy for you and your hubby!! Congrats on a beautiful, beautiful little boy-- what a blessing, especially after all you've gone through. You sound like an amazing mommy, and it's wonderful to hear how much you are loving it!!
